A Day of Learning and Networking in Wisconsin

From the moment attendees arrived, the energy at the 2026 Wisconsin Connection Conference was unmistakable. Held February 24th in Wisconsin Dells in conjunction with the Next Gen Roundtable, the event buzzed with conversation, laughter, and purposeful connection as dealers and suppliers leaned into a full day of networking and professional development. From sponsor tabletops to interactive discussions, the excitement and momentum carried throughout the day, making it clear this was more than a conference; it was a collaboration within Wisconsin & Upper Michigan’s LBM community.

The all inclusive event provided attendees with valuable opportunities to connect and learn. Throughout the day, dealers were encouraged to visit sponsor tabletops to explore the latest products and services from BLD Connection supplier members. Dealers and suppliers also intermingled during the owner/manager and sales roundtables, exchanging ideas and discussing trends impacting the LBM industry.

Over lunch, keynote speaker Dr. Cindra Kamphoff energized the room with her presentation, 10 Practices of High Performance. Her interactive and motivating session offered practical takeaways to help attendees combat burnout, manage stress, and maintain peak performance, while literally getting the crowd on their feet.

Following lunch, attendees chose from engaging breakout sessions designed to sharpen sales and leadership skills. Lynne Jensen Nelson led the sales seminar Beyond the Bid: Driving Builder Sales, challenging participants to move past price driven conversations and focus on becoming trusted, strategic partners to builders and designers. Concurrently, Paul Burke presented Unleashing a “People Power” Revolution in Your Organization, emphasizing the importance of intentional, people driven leadership strategies in today’s evolving workforce landscape.

Later in the afternoon, Brad Boycks, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Builders Association, provided a market update followed by the panel discussion Stronger Together: Building Success Through Collaboration, which delivered real world insights on how communication, alignment, and a customer first mindset create stronger partnerships and shared success across the supply chain.

The day wrapped up with a lively Networking Reception, where conversations continued over hosted drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and prize drawings, ending the event with an entertaining impromptu auction for a foursome at the Wisconsin Golf Outing on July 28.

During the membership meeting, WLDEF scholarship winners were recognized and outgoing board members Carol Menghini (41 Lumber) and Peder Anderson (Northern Crossarm) were thanked for their dedicated service. Members also voted in Shane Schwingle (Pukall Lumber) and Bill Hesselgrave (Manion’s Wholesale Building Supplies) for four year terms on the BLD Connection Wisconsin Board.
